The Mobile Monday (MoMo) Story

Mobile Monday is a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influentials fostering cooperation and business development through educational and networking events. Its objectives include encouraging innovation in the mobile industry, facilitating networking between companies in the mobile ecosystem and presenting innovative visions, trends, and studies.

 The remarkable MoMo phenomenon began almost by accident in Helsinki, Finland during the chilly autumn of 2000. Vesa-Matti ‘Vesku’ Paananen, a well-known Finnish mobile visionary, invited more than fifty mobile innovators to an Irish pub for an informal get-together and perhaps a warming drink. The only suitable time? You guessed it, Monday evening. After meeting many new faces and discussing the latest in mobility, the group decided to continue meeting each month Monday of each month – and Mobile Monday was born.  Click here for more history. 

Founded in 2007, Mobile Monday Mid-Atlantic (MoMoMa) is the Philadelphia-area regional chapter. Membership benefits include:

Access to a large local membership - With over 2,500 members, MoMoMa is one of the fastest growing technology networking and educational organizations in the Greater Philadelphia region.  According to the 2011 Philadelphia Business Journal, we are the 7th largest regional networking group.

Attendance at high-impact events - Our educational and networking events reach up to 400 local business professionals, including entrepreneurs, marketers, and mobile technologists.  Our chapter events feature industry-leading keynote speakers and panelists from tech to financial to pharma - names like Intuit, Gartner, AT&T, Virgin, Verizon and NBC. We also feature thought leaders from the top universities, venture capital, and government. Recent event topics included mobile marketing and advertising, location-based services, mobile social networks, emerging companies, mobile in the enterprise, healthcare and financial services.
